by Alan Young January 8, 2019

Want to save money without feeling like you're absolutely broke?

The good news is, you don't have to.

In fact, it's quite easy to save money if you make a few small lifestyle changes here and there.

I'm sure you'll be happy to know you can put some cash away without going ultra frugal.

I don't know about you but I still like to live some kinda normal life when saving money and I would presume you do too.

I'm not going to keep you waiting.

Let's dive straight in.

Here are 19 ways to save money easily without being a penny pincher.

1. Use Rebate apps.

– Paribus

Sign up for Paribus and find out if stores owe you a refund – effortlessly! Paribus scans for price drops at stores with price adjustment policies.

Then if you're owed money Paribus will get it for you and get it paid directly to you free of charge.

– Ibotta

When you sign up to Ibotta you get rewards and savings every time you go shopping.

Simply check Ibotta before you shop, travel, dine out, or purchase something in your favorite apps.

– Ebates

With Ebates you can earn Cash Back rewards at your favorite stores! You get unbeatable shopping deals, promo codes & coupons with Ebates.

2. Cut back on the meat

I was blown away by how much less my household food bill was each week after ditching the meat.

I cut back on meat out of wanting to eat a more plant-based diet and was pleasantly surprised at the difference it made to my waller.

I would estimate it cut the weekly shopping bill by a third.

You don't need to stop meat altogether but cutting back to just a few days a week will have a massive impact.

3. Buy fewer snacks from the shops

Even just a can of coke and a chocolate bar a day ads up to $50+ a month.

My fiance and I used to get a least 1 can of coke and a cholate bar each night and once we stopped doing this (again out of health reasons) we saved a nice chunk of money each month.

Give it a go and see how much you'll save on those sneaky little shop visits each day.

4. Share a car

You can save a few ways from sharing a car.

If you can manage with one car then you'll get money for your old car and you'll save on your insurance costs.

Not to mention any upkeep costs.

My fiance and I ditched our second car as didn't use it that much and it didn't affect our lives in a negative way.

We still got to where wanted and did the things we usually did.

And yeah sometimes we had to plan who was using the car at what times.

But overall it was pretty easy switching to one car and it saved us about $150 a month on costs.

5. Wait for deals to buy clothes

I buy all my clothes when there are deals happening online.

I still like to buy nice clothes so I keep an eye for deals online and then buy what I want when a store is doing a weekend sale with say 50% off.

I brought my self some really nice kicks the other day and I got them half price in the January sales.

I knew I wanted these when I saw them so I waited about 3 weeks till the shop had a sale then got them with 50% off.

The best deals are normally online and I would recommend comparing multiple stores if there's something specific you want.

6. Cancel the Gym membership

I'm not saying don't work out but you might not need your Gym membership.

Most people have memberships they don't even use.

However, if you are a fitness buff then you might want to try other ways for exercising.

Calisthenics is a great way to exercise and is totally free to do.

It's all done with body weight exercises.

If you're lucky enough to live in somewhere with Calisthenics training parks then get stuck in.

You can also run or cycle for cardio training.

Not sure if you can get it good shape without a gym membership?

Check out this street Calisthenics training video.

7. Take food out with you

Prep your food and take it out with you.

Whether it's for work or for trips out with the family.

Eating out is so expensive and most of the time it's not that great anyway.

I'd rather pack my own food with something I'll know I'll enjoy plus it'll be healthier 😉

8. Walk or bike

If you can walk or bike to work then why not save money and get some exercise in the process.

You'll be saving money and getting healthier in the process.

I love a good walk with some uplifting music.

It gets me feeling good about life and I always feel happier!

9. Quit smoking or switch to a Vape

This is a big one!

If you smoke then you'll save a fortune if you quit entirely or at least switch to vaping.

Vapes shops are everywhere and have some great flavors.

It's so much better to vape than to smoke.

I used to smoke so I know it's not easy to stop.

I also vaped and know how much cheaper it is to vape.

I went from cigarettes to vapes and then I eventually quit with the help of Alen Carr's Easy Way To Quit Smoking book.

That book has literally helped millions of people quit smoking and with ease.

If you smoke then reading that book could be the best choice you ever make.

10. Stop drinking alcohol (or cut back)

Again I used to drink A LOT!

I've stopped drinking for over 2 years as of writing this and I've saved a fortune (not to mention a few sore heads in the mornings).

I recently went to Thailand for a 2-week vacation and I was so surprised how much less money I spent this time in comparison to the time I went before when I drank.

Not only did I spend less I actually DID MORE!

The health benefits are amazing as well.

It's a win-win. Save money and feel better!

11. Eat at home more

If you cut back on dining out and eat at home more you'll save a good amount of money.

Depending on how many are in your family it can be quite substantial.

It can be quite enjoyable to cook a nice family meal and sit down and enjoy it together each night.

It helps grow that family bond plus it's so much cheaper to cook at home.

12. Use coupons

I couldn't write an article about saving money without mentioning coupons.

Magazines usually have plenty of coupons for you to use.

These may only seem small but they add up and contribute to the overall savings you will be making each month.

It's much easier to use a rebate tool though, like Paribus, iBotta or Ebates if you have a smartphone.

Sign up with them below, they're free to use and they're the most trusted 3 rebate tools available.

—> Sign up to Paribus here.

—> Sign up to Ibotta here.

—> Sign up to Ebates here.

13. Bulk buy essentials

Things like toilet paper, shampoos and washing powders go on offer from time to time and it's worth buying in bulk when they do.

As you buy these things regularly and they are a necessity then it's worth picking up a few when they are on sale.

Sometimes my bathroom has stacks of toilet paper because I've got such a good deal on them 🙂

14. Reduce utility bills.

There are a few ways you can do this.

  • Wash clothes on cold.
  • Don’t leave lights on when you don't need to.
  • Lower the temp on your thermostat.
  • Turn down the water heater. If your water isn’t being heated over 120 degrees, you are saving on energy.
  • Air dry your clothes.

15. Write a shopping list and stick to it

It's so easy to buy extra things you don't need when going shopping.

If you're trying to save money then it's time to get ruthless about using that shopping list and sticking to it.

Make sure you write down everything that you want to get then only buy those things when at the grocery store.

I know it's hard to not pick up those enticing offers by the checkout but stay strong, you can do it!

16. Eat before going grocery shopping

This ties in with the last one.

If you eat before going shopping then you won't want to buy all that tasty looking food you see when navigating the aisles.

I know for a fact that when I shop when hungry I buy loads more food that I shouldn't.

Must of it is junk food that I don't need to be eating.

If you shop weekly and you spend an extra ten bucks on foods you wouldn't have bought if you weren't hungry, then that's $40 a month saved by going grocery shopping on a full stomach.

17. Order food shopping online

Since the last 2 were on the shopping theme then it's worth mentioning it can be a good idea to order your groceries online because that way you'll definitely only buy what you need.

Plus you'll save on the gas driving to the store and back.

18. Buy second hand where possible

Somethings are fine secondhand.

For example, I buy a lot of books as I'm a big reader and I always buy second hand off amazon or in charity shops.

I would use a library but I like to collect books as well.

DVD's is another thing I buy second hand.

The other day I wanted to watch a TV series which wasn't on Netflix and on Amazon it was $20, I had a look on eBay and got it for $4 delivered.

I saved $16 and watched the TV series I wanted.

There are lots of other things you can buy second hand.

Like clothes, furniture and even buying a car just a year or 2 older than if you where to buy it brand new would save you loads of money.

Have a think.

Is there anything you've bought or want to buy that can be got for less second hand?

19. Keep track of what you spend.

The simple act of keeping track is a great way to make you more aware of what you're spending money on.

Write everything down you spend your money on each day, then review it at the end of the month.

I'm sure you'll see a lot of things you could stop spending money on.

It's the same with dieting.

When someone writes down everything they eat each day, then there's no way to be in denial about what they truly eat each day.

When you become aware of all the pointless stuff you spend money on it'll be much easier to stop buying the things you don't really need or even want.

So there you have it…

Paribus Review – Is It A Scam? This Is What You Need To Know

by Alan Young January 8, 2019

If you shop online then there's a good chance some stores could owe you money.

And I'm sure if you're like me then you wouldn't say no to getting cash back on some of your online purchases.

You may be reading this article to see if Paribus is a scam or legit.

Or,

You may have been looking for ways to make some savings when shopping online.

The good news is Paribus is legit and you can get money when prices drop on products you've bought, deliveries that are late and when a hotel price drops.

Paribus Review

In this article, I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about this app that gets you money back with your online purchases.

The Paribus App is easy to use and it completely safe.

Paribus is owned by Capital One since 2016 and it has continued to grow successfully since it was founded.

Shop online? Then you might be able to save money with cashback when using this free app. In this article I review Paribus and show if it really can save you money. #ItsAlanYoung #SaveMoney #Frugal #FrugalLiving #MakeMoney #Rebates #MoneyMakingApps #MoneySavingApps

How to Sign Up To Paribus App?

Sign up for Paribus here and find out if stores owe you a refund.

Once you do that you'll be able to get the money you're owed in 3 ways.

  • Retail Price Drops
  • Late Deliveries
  • Hotel Price Drops

So let me explain in a little more detail how you'll save money using this APP.

How Does Paribus Work?

You just link your mailbox and Paribus will track the prices of what you bought, and actually get you the cash you're owed from the retailers directly.

Paribus contacts the retailer on your behalf and files a claim requesting a refund or provides you straightforward instructions on how to do it yourself.

It then monitors your email for recent order confirmations and then checks for price changes.

If there's anything with an eligible claim then Paribus will detect it and let you know.

Once Paribus succeeds in your claim you're then credited to the card you paid with or given store credit to use.

Paribus charges you nothing for this service.

No Minimum Cashout

The cool thing about this app is there's no minimum amount for cash out as the retailers refund you the amount they owe direct to you.

It can be super frustrating when you want to cash out your money and there's a $100 minimum cashout amount.

Whether it's $5 or $500 you'll be able to get your refund that you're owed.

The good thing is,

Paribus doesn't need your bank details as the retailers will be refunding you directly for any retails price drops, late deliveries or hotel price drops.

Your Banking Details

When you use the Paribus App you do not need to give them your bank details.

It makes people feel safe knowing that you do not need to hand over your bank details to use their price drop or late delivery service.

The retailer will issue you the refund, not Paribus.

How Paribus Monitors Your Purchases

The Paribus App works via your email receipts.

You simply give the app permission to access your emails then it works in the background checking to see if any of your purchases are eligible for a cash back refund.

Then it will notify you of any eligible claims which it will then take care of for you if you want it to.

Which Online Stores Work With Paribus?

Paribus works with major stores such as…

Amazon, Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Best Buy, Newegg, Staples, Target, Bonobos, J.Crew, Zappos, Nordstrom, Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy, Athleta, Walmart, Kohl’s, Office Depot, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Costco, Home Depot, Sears, Crate & Barrel, Bed Bath & Beyond, Rei, Anthropologie, L.L.Bean, Loft, Wayfair

Paribus is up to date with all their policies so it knows when an eligible purchase is covered and will then work as the middleman to get any cashback owed to you.

Paribus Works With Hotels too.

This is something I like the most as I travel and stay in hotels quite often.

Sometimes you can book a hotel for $175 and then it'll be $125 on the very same day.

Paribus works in real time to monitor price changes.

Once a lower rate is detected, Paribus will contact you via email and let you know about the lower rate if your hotel is cancelable.

If you want to proceed then Paribus will lock the new rate with Priceline, Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia or many of the other hotel sites they work with.

They then process the cancelation on your behalf.

Once all's been done and you've got the new lower rate Paribus will get you refunded the difference to the card you paid with.

Again there's no fee to do this for you.

Does Paribus Work With Amazon?

Paribus does work with Amazon but in a different way.

As Amazon doesn't offer price protection guarantees Paribus works by Amazon's delivery policy.

If an order you place on Amazon has a guaranteed delivery date but it doesn't arrive on time then you may be eligible to get a refund on your delivery costs.

Also, Amazon Prime members may be able to get one extra month if their deliveries are late.

Does Amazon Do Price Match?

To clarify what was mentioned above, Amazon doesn't offer a price guarantee policy but they do have a shipping guarantee on eligible orders.

Paribus will monitor this for you and make a claim if an order is eligible for a claim.

Is Paribus Trustworthy?

Paribus is 100% safe and trustworthy as many customers will verify that with good reviews.

It's understandable having concerns about giving access to your email but it's necessary for it to have access to your inbox to find your savings opportunities.

Paribus takes your security very seriously and wouldn't jeopardize your information in any way.

Only Receipt Emails Checked

When the App has access to your inbox it uses smart logic technology to identify and check only the emails that appear to be receipts.

They do not open or check any other type of email.

If you were a bit unsure then you could create a separate email that you can use when shopping then give Paribus access to that email.

If you don't allow the app access then it won't be able to work doing the price checking for you.

Any data they use when tracking for savings is stored using powerful AES 128 encryption ensuring your data is safe and no one gets access to it.

When you sign up you'll see it's totally safe and you'll be getting cash back in no time.

Supported email accounts

Paribus supports Gmail, Yahoo!, Outlook webmail providers.

If you use anything else then you simply create a shopping email address on one of the providers above.

Is Paribus Free Or Does It Cost anything?

Paribus is 100% free and doesn't cost anything to you.

Paribus doesn't charge anything to make the claims on your behalf and doesn't keep any of your cash back.

It's a complete win for you!

How Much Money Can You Save?

It all depends on how much you spend online.

If you book a hotel which then drops $50 then it's a quick $50 cash back.

The more you shop online then the more you can save.

Most people do a large number of their purchases online, and if you can get just a bit back then it will be worth it.

How You Get Paid

When you're owed cashback the retailer will refund the money owed directly to you.

It's totally hassle free and you don't need to give any bank details to anyone.

You can feel safe knowing your bank details won't be crossing hands with anyone else.

It's nice and easy just how we like it!

The Paribus Reviews

If you're a bit skeptical then you'll want to see how much people are saving using this app.

When you sign up to Paribus head over to their deals page and it lists all the recent refunds people have got from using this app.

Paribus App Availability: What Countries And Devices Is It Available in?

Paribus is currently only available in the USA and partners with USA's biggest retailers such are Walmart, Costco, Wayfair, Target etc…

The APP is only available through Apple devices,

But don't worry if you're an Android user as Paribus is available to use on ALL computers making it accessible to everyone.

Sign up to Paribus using your computer here.

Paribus Review: Summary

Paribus is a great legitimate app that you'll love having working for you in the background getting you cashback that you're owed.

As I'm sure you can now see Paribus is legit and not a scam.

You've got nothing to lose and only money to gain.

Paribus does all the heavy lifting. All you need to do is set it up then it does all the work for you.

Sign up for Paribus here and find out if stores owe you a refund.
